Citizenship and Immigration Minister Jason Kenney has been charged with 'pinkwashing' after 1000's of Canadians received an unrequited email lauding the government's policy on gay and lesbian refugees.
The e-mail using the subject line, "LGBT Refugees from Iran," that was signed through the minister and sent Friday mid-day.
Addressing its readers as "Buddies," the content noted Minister of Foreign Matters John Baird's recent comments about Canada's position from the persecution and marginalization of gays and lesbian and ladies all over the world.
"We are proud of the emphasis our Conservative Government has positioned on gay and lesbian refugee protection that is without precedent in Canada’s immigration history" Kenney authored, highlighting efforts in Iran.
"Particularly, we've taken charge in assisting gay refugees who've fled frequently violent persecution in Iran to start new, safe lives in Canada."
But a few of the note's readers have expressed their surprise and displeasure to understand that Kenney's office would be aware of regarding their sexual orientation or support for issues in LGBT towns.
Based on a wide open letter composed by someone unhappy to possess been specific, Kenney's email "is really a poor attempt for 'pinkwashing' the Conservative government's apparent need to encourage war with Iran."
The letter alleges Kenney put together”propaganda junk e-mail list" with no recipients' permission and it is utilizing it to try and drum up their support.

This Year, nearly 10,000 people added their names for an electronic petition targeted at preventing the deportation / removal of gay artist Alvaro Orozco.
Whenever someone registered their support for that petition published online change.org, an application letter such as the signatory's current email address was instantly delivered to Kenney's office.
